Hallo, my name is Bokkie and I am a guardian of our beautiful environment. In 2007 my home in Mpumalanga burned down and it motivated me to call on all of you to help me protect our environment from wild fires.
I am an eco-wildfire fighter and I educate my communities and schools about the importance of reporting wildfires and to take ownership of the environment. I teach my friends to heal the land and to strengthen community bonds throughout various provinces.
I have a support team that is based in the Lowveld, who is dedicated in helping me to stop wildfires. They help me to visit schools, events and communities to rally up support for the "Mlilo Fire Awareness campaign". Browse through our website and learn more about what we do!
